Doris Estella Leightcap of Clarks Summit died Thursday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing Facility. Her husband is Darius Leightcap. The couple celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Born in Limerick, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Elmer and Stella Mae Heimbach Moyer. She was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the Ruth Circle, and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Doris was loved and cherished by her family, who were always first in her life. She also enjoyed traveling in her motor home.
Also surviving are a son, Darry Leightcap and wife, Stacey, Clarks Summit; three daughters, Wendy Canestro and husband, Gregory, Erie; Randee Leightcap, Richland, N.J.; and Sandra Leightcap and companion, Michael Dargie, Danville, Vt.; a sister, Dawn Kelius, Pottstown; six grandchildren, Christopher and Kayleigh Boyle, Audrey Leightcap Vaccaro, and Ellen, Emily and Jack Leightcap; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Surgeoner; and a brother, Elmer Moyer.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, 1310 Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Judy Wanck, pastor. Interment will follow at Abington Hills Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, from 10 until time of service. Arrangements by Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S.
