Donald R. Walters of Glenburn died Sunday afternoon after a brief illness. His wife of 28 years is Kathryn Whitman Walters.

Born in Scranton, son of the late David John and Elizabeth Mattern Walters, he had served in the Air Force. He later was employed with Sandvik Materials Technology for more than 32 years.

Don loved family, friends, golfing, camping, Gettysburg and life. He is and will be deeply missed. Don's conscientious character, great wit and kindness will be remembered and appreciated forever. He died surrounded by his family.

Also surviving are four children, Christopher Walters and wife, Meghan; Karyn Conner; David John Walters and Rebecca Walters. He was the proud grandfather of Ryan, Clair and Madeline Walters. Survivors also include a brother, Dave and wife, Laura, Barto; two sisters, Katherine Walters; and Susan Whitney and husband, Wade; niece and goddaughter, Elsa Whitney, all of Scranton; beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

A service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Friends may call Saturday from 1 until the time of the service.
