Donald S. Swerdoski, 75, Clarks Summit, died Tuesday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He was the husband of the former Regina Lysak.
Born in Scranton on Nov. 30, 1937, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary Zimnock Swerdoski. He was employed by the Viewmont Mall and before that, by Fisca Gas and Oil Co.
Donald was an avid New York Yankees fan and had a love for cars. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Sonja Verdetto and her companion, Chip Graaf, Hazleton; a stepson, Tony Verdetto and wife, Christine, Clarks Summit; three grandchildren, Martina Maria Yencho, Clarks Summit; Nicholas Yencho, Hazleton; and Capria Verdetto, Clarks Summit; sister-in-law, Lorraine Chrzan, Clarks Summit; and his beloved cat, James Garfield, aka "Jimmy G."
A funeral service was held Friday at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Monsignor James McGarry, pastor of Our Lady of the Snows Church. Interment was at Sandy Banks Cemetery in Greenfield Twp.
