Born in Scranton, he was the son of late Robert and Nancy Jones Schwartztrauber. He was a graduate of West Scranton High School and prior to retirement worked as an industrial mechanic at Cascade Tissue Co. He was a proud Army veteran
who
serv
ed on the front lines in combat
during the Vietnam War
and was a lifetime member of the A
bington Memorial VFW Post #7069.

everything about cars
, especially his 2003
Mustang
Cobra
Convertible
and his 1964
Ford
Thunderbird
Convertible. His biggest pleasure was going on "tours".
He was known by many for his generous spirit
, providing for others
, and most notably his honesty, courage, and wisdom
. He courageously battled cancer for fifteen yearsand remained the strong willed family man admired by so many.

Dawn Hnat and her husband

Kyle; a son Joshua Schwartztrauber and his companion Rachael Delia; two sisters, Diane Schwartztrauber and Patricia Williams; four grandchildren, Dylan

Chase
,
and
Blake
; and his faithful dog, Dozer.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Schwartztrauber.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home and on Saturday morning from 9:30 am to the time of the service at 10:30 am.
