Donald S. Rozelle of Fleetville died Thursday evening at the VNA Hospice Unit in Scranton. His wife, the former Cedora Collins Rozelle, died in 1982.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Leona Sayre Rozelle. Before retirement, he was a self-employed dairy farmer and a school bus driver for Lackawanna Trail School District for more than 30 years. He also worked with Whipple's Lumber in Clarks Summit and the Community Medical Center. He was a member of the Scott and Fleetville Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as a past chief for Fleetville.
Surviving are a son, Laverne S. Rozelle and wife, Beth, Fleetville; three daughters, Laraine Deacon and husband, David, Nicholson; Dora Rozelle, Montrose; and Edwina Rozelle, Jefferson Twp; two sisters, Leanor Burrell, California; and Melba Capwell, Downingtown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen M. Rozelle, and a son, Donald B. Rozelle.
The family would like to thank Traditional Home Health Care and the staff at the VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center for their warmth and compassion toward Donald.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment, Chase Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday, 10 until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Fleetville Fire Company, P.O. Box 6, Fleetville, PA 18420.
