Donald Rosenkrans, 68, Newton Twp., died Thursday night at the
hospice unit of Mercy Hospital. His wife is the former Gennine
Lilli. The couple was married for 46 years.
Born in Taylor, son of the late Norvison and Augusta Burke
Rosenkrans, he was a life-long resident of Newton Twp. Prior to
retirement, he was a Psychiatric Aide for the Clarks Summit State Hospital for thirty-five years he also enjoyed working the family farm. He was a member of the Milwaukee United Methodist Church.
His favorite hobbies included playing Santa Clause for the community and giving hayrides. He could often be found with his grandchildren trailing behind him like Santa's little helpers.
Surviving are a son, Thomas, Newton Twp.; daughters Donna DelPrete and Lisa Kerrigan both of Newton Twp.; a brother, Herman, Ransom wp.; grandchildren, Dominick, Phillip, Brianna, Tre, Donald Joseph, and Daniel; nieces and nephews. He was also a father-figure to his
nephews, Nick and Neil Malatesta, and neice, Margaret Vitcavage.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norvison, and sisters,
Augusta and Betty Rosenkrans.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Monday at the
Church of St. Benedict, Newton Ransom Blvd., Newton Twp. Interment ill be at Newton Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3-7pm at the Lawrence E. Young
Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
