Donald H. Moyer Jr., 81, Clarks Summit, formerly of Upper Darby, died Tuesday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife was the late Violet Lee Schafer Moyer.
Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Donald H. Sr. and Elizabeth Fleetwood Payne Moyer, he was a graduate of Philadelphia High School and served two years in the Naval Reserve. Before his retirement, he was grocery clerk and seafood manager for Super Fresh Markets in Philadelphia.
Don was a life member of the Upper Darby Fire Police District 7 and the Wildwood Villa Fire Company. He also enjoyed buying and selling antiques as well as being an auctioneer.
Surviving are two sons, Donald H. Moyer III, Clarks Summit; and Albert Moyer and his wife, Daniela, South Abington Twp.; a daughter, Deborah Curmaci and her fiancé, Jack Zborovian, Duryea; five grandchildren, Matthew, Brad and Greg Moyer, and Angela and Michael Curmaci; and former wife Carlene Howard, Clarks Summit.
He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Curmaci Jr.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Donohue Funeral Home Inc., 8401 West Chester Pike , Upper Darby. The family will also receive friends at the Donahue Funeral Home on Friday from noon until time of service. Interment will be in the Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
