Donald Roy Lodwick, 85, formerly of Clarks Summit, died peacefully Friday afternoon. He was the husband of the former Barbara Evans. The couple had been married for 64 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Roy and Mary Crandon Lodwick. He was a 1948 graduate of West Scranton High School and attended Johnson School in Scranton. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War.
Donald worked for 21 years as a design engineer for Sandvik Steel. He was most proud of his accomplishments at Sandvik, and being a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Surviving are three sons, Donald and wife, Sarah, Clarks Summit; William and wife, Lynn, New Palestine, Ind.; and Karl and wife, Wendy, Lebanon, Pa.; a sister, Dorothy Healey; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Kramer, and a grandson, David Lodwick.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home.
