Donald P. Guard of Old Forge died Sunday at the Riverside Rehab & Nursing Center, Taylor.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Donald and Deborah Hutchens Guard. Prior to retiring, he was a contractor, installing home insulation. He was an avid NASCAR fan and especially enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts.
Surviving are his companion and soulmate, Irene Chapman, Old Forge; two sons, John Guard, Scranton; and Donald Guard, Exeter; a brother, Robert Guard and wife, Melissa, Milford; three sisters, Helen Tucker and husband, Bill, Exeter; Debbie Slocum, Scranton; and Trudy Guard, Scranton; two grandchildren, Thomas Lamond and Kaliana Guard; nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Daniel Guard and David and August Murrin.
The funeral will be Friday at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Friends may call Friday, from 5 until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the American Cancer Society , 712 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor, PA 18517.
