Donald Duane Johnson, 71, of Tunkhannock, formerly of Clifford, took his last flight to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 8th. He was under joint care with Forest City Nursing Home and Hospice of the Sacred Heart. He was the husband of Frances Machell Johnson.

Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late O. Duane Johnson and Marion Johnson TenBrock. He was employed at Masters Concrete as a bookkeeper and prior to his retirement he started his own business, in which he sold auto parts, cars and the latest was selling utility trailers. He attended Towanda Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter Christine Latwinski, and husband Richard, New Milford; three sons, Scott D., and wife Mary Beth, Friendsville; Clinton, and wife Bonnie, Forest City; and Jeffrey, and wife Michelle, Peckville, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, three brothers, Dean Johnson, Herrick Center, Jack Johnson, Tolland Conn., and Robert Johnson, Gellatt, three sisters, Cheryl Johnson, Lincoln City, OR; Barbara Mack, Brandon VT, and Sandra Mowry, Clifford, an Aunt and Uncle Don and Marjorie Smith, New Milford, and several nieces and nephews.

The one thing he loved to do most was fly his airplane or just be around any kind of plane. He also loved to hunt and go on road trips.

The funeral will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Willow View Cemetery in Clifford. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Dr. #7, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702.
