Donald A. Deats, Archbald, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Thursday afternoon at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was the widower of Theresa J. Gabriel, who died in 1995. The couple was married in 1955.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Wesley and Hazle Carey Deats. Before retirement, he was truck driver for Defazio Express for more than 20 years. While semi-retired, he drove for Delvecchio Transport. He was a member of the Teamsters Local and received many safe driving awards. He was a veteran of the Navy. Donald especially enjoyed family time, Big Band music and going to the casino.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Lesnefsky and husband, David, Peckville; and Terri Holmes and husband, Jerry, Archbald; three siblings, Richard Deats, New York; John Major, Florida; and Venus Puckett, Peckville; and three grandchildren, Tiffany Lesnefsky, Travis and Brad Williams. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Korilynn Elizabeth Williams; four half-brothers, Fred, Bill, Cliff and Teddy Major; and a brother, Robert Deats.

A private service will be held at a later date at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
