Dolores E. Smith, 84, of N. Abington Twp., died Thursday morning at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. She was the widow of the late Marshal H. Smith, who died in 2001.
Dolores was the daughter of the late Harry and Pearl Carpenter Tripp. She was graduate of Factoryville High School and was a devoted house wife who enjoyed caring for her family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of East Benton.
Dolores was a very active member of her church and was involved in many activities as well as the women's missionary society. She was an avid reader who loved to make crafts and especially enjoyed baking and decorating many cookies and cakes.
Surviving are three daughters Susan Muro, Scranton; Carol Richards and her fiancé Dan Geng, Shohola; and Corinne Inman and her husband John, Endicott NY; a sister Wilma Demming and her husband Arlin, Montdale; six grandchildren Matthew and Michelle Muro, Amanda Inman, Cory Richards, and Ashley and Justin Oset; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Clifton and Foster Tripp and two grandsons Mark Muro and Chris Oset.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 10am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411, with services by Rev. Mark Obrzut, pastor of the United Methodist Church of East Benton. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 8pm.
