Diana A. McDonald, of Newton Township, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday morning. She shared a devoted and loving marriage with her husband, Wallace Roy McDonald.
Born in Scranton, Diana was the daughter of the late Donald and Marion Knickerbocker. Before her retirement, she dedicated years to the dietary department of the Abington Heights School District, where she took pride in caring for the children at the school. Diana also served her community as a previous member of the Newton Recreation Center Board.
Family was the center of Diana's world. She found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the wonder of the world around her. Whether she was stargazing with her astronomy club, watching birds from her yard, planting flowers in her garden, or walking along the beach, she found happiness in life's simple and beautiful moments.
In addition to her husband, Diana is survived by her five sons: Wallace Roy McDonald Jr. of Hudson, Florida; William Ray McDonald and his wife, Kathy, of South Abington Township; Frank McDonald and his wife, Carol, of West Palm Beach, Florida; Warren Robert McDonald and his fiancée, Tristen Grant, of Peckville; and Wesley Ross McDonald of Elizabethtown; and by her daughter, Whitney McDonald of Clarks Summit.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Ray Jr., Rachel, and Renee McDonald; Liam, Zayden, and Wynonna McDonald; and Zoey Puhalla, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by several cherished nieces and nephews.
Diana was preceded in death by her sisters, JoAnn Marcinkevich and Donna Stout.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, Diana's legacy of love, warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
