Dennis Arthur Kile, 68, of Clarks Summit passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his home.
Denny was born April 25, 1947 in Berwick, PA and lived in Clarks Summit for the past 60 years. He was the son of the late Reynold and Grace (Zimmerman) Kile. He was a 1965 graduate of Abington Heights High School. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army as a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Following his discharge, he worked as an engineering draftsman, began a construction business and prior to retirement worked for the U. S. Postal Service.
He was a gifted artist and true craftsman who could build just about anything. He excelled in landscaping and enjoyed gardening and cooking. As a twelve year old he built a remarkable tree house, the nicest in Clarks Summit. Denny will be remembered for his special sense of humor and his gentle ways.
Surviving are his brother, Douglas (Suzanne) Kile, Endwell, NY; beloved nieces, Amy (Byron) Barnes and children Grace and Oliver, Benecia, CA; Beth (David) Purpora and sons Freddy and James, Endwell, NY; and Loren (Kenneth) Bunche, Mamaroneck, NY.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his oldest brother, Dean Allyn Kile.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 am until noon at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. A brief Memorial Service will follow conducted by Rev. Douglas L. Sivers, pastor, Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.
