Denis Joseph Daly

Denis Joseph Daly, South Abington Township, died Saturday morning at the Allied Skilled Nursing Facility, Scranton.  His wife was the former Kathleen Dennehy of Jamaica, New York.

Born in Kanturk, Ireland he was the son of the late William Daly and Mary O'Callaghan.  He was a member of Our Lady of The Snows Church, Clarks Summit. Prior to his retirement he was an elevator mechanic in New York City.

Surviving are his son, Bill Daly and his wife Colette, South Abington Twp.; two granddaughters, Theresa and Karen Daly both of South Abington Township; a brother Stephen Daly, England; aunt Julia O'Callaghan, Ireland; nieces, Nicola Kenneally, Carmel Moylan and Katrina Lowry all of Ireland, Angela Petterson, New York and Maggie Cook, England; nephews, Jim Prado, CT, Michael Prado, FL, Martin Quirk and David Quirk, New York, Declan Fitzgerald and Teddy Fitzgerald, Ireland and Stephen Daly, Jr., England.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Daly, a sister, Breda Fitzgerald and a niece, Rita Prado.

A private Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, Pastor of Our Lady of the Snows church in Clarks Summit.  Interment will be in Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, New York at a later date.
