Listen to Obituary

Delores Basalyga Naglak, 92, peacefully fell asleep on December 20, 2021, with her beloved family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Donald S. Naglak.

Born in Scranton, PA, Delores was one of 12 children born to the late Alexander and Stephania Rydzanycz Basalyga. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Greek Catholic Church in Scranton. She spent nearly all her adult life in the grocery industry, beginning at the Giant Market before she and Donald opened their own full service meat and grocery business. Don's Market was a long-time staple in Clarks Summit for 49 years, providing meat, groceries and delicious homemade treats along with countless enjoyable memories for generations of valued customers, particularly during the holiday seasons, when everyone gathered for the laughs and good cheer during the customer appreciation parties. Many of Delores' nieces and nephews practiced their math skills at the register and gladly accepted penny candy in exchange for their efforts. Delores had an eye for fashion, an opinion about everything, a quick sense of humor, even into her 90's, and a great love for her family.

Surviving are two sisters, Lovie Swingle and Sonja (Stephen) Fueshko, both of Clarks Summit, and many cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Delores was preceded in death by four sisters, Ann Pivovarnik, Olga Dzbinski, Daria Schuster and Mary Kneiss, and five brothers, John, Peter, Russell, Frank (Teddy) and Joseph.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider giving a donation in Delores' memory to her church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lawrenceeyoungfuneralhome.com.
