David E. Miles

David E. Miles, Scott Township, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening. He is survived by his wife, the former Leila White. The couple married in 1947.

Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Nelson and Harriet Lucile Williams Miles. Prior to his retirement, he was in retail sales for the Sears Roebuck Company. He was the Treasurer for The Gideons and a Sunday School teacher, trustee, deacon and auditor for Peckville Baptist Church.

Also surviving are a son, Ronald Miles and his wife Connie, Scott Township; three daughters, Marilyn Stracham and her husband William, Clifford Township, Susan Miller and her husband Scott, Peckville, and Arline Bell, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pierson and Allan Miles; three sisters, Nancy Young, Esther Powell, and Hilda Grimes.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons International, 50 Century Blvd, Nashville, TN  37214.
