David Hepplewhite, Nicholson, died Friday evening at the VNA Hospice Unit at the Community Medical Center. His wife, Arlene Hepplewhite, died in 2005.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Robert and Mary Davies Hepplewhite, he was an Air Force veteran. Before retirement, he was an ironworker for McGregor Iron and a member of Iron Workers Union Local 489.

He was an avid hunter who loved spending time outdoors. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are two daughters, Cathy LaRue and husband, Damien, Clarks Summit; and Bonnie Comstock and husband, Arthur, Waverly; three stepchildren, Tina Gossard, Lehighton; Russell Stoudt, Duryea; and Daniel Stoudt, Quakertown; a brother, Robert Hepplewhite and wife, Jessie, Chapman Lake; several grandchildren; step- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a sister Karen Beynon.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Moses Taylor Hospital and staff, DaVita Dialysis in Tunkhannock, Dr. Henry Yeager, and the VNA Hospice unit at the Community Medical Center.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Judy Wanck, pastor of Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Monday, 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to DaVita Dialysis, Tyler Memorial Hospital, 880 State Route 6 West, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
