Darryll Martin Ceccoli, 63, of Canton, Ga., died Sunday at home. He was the husband of Katrina Esposito Ceccoli. They were married six years.
Born Sept. 24, 1947, in Olyphant, son of Helen Mashe Ceccoli and the late Joseph William Ceccoli, he was the retired president and chief operations officer of Manheim Auto Auctions. When he was 5, he and his family moved to Dalton, where he went to school and graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School. He then went on to graduate from Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre. His interests as a young man were mechanics, welding, motorcycles, music and many other creative endeavors.
Not surprising, he was led to Manheim Auctions, where in his 27-year career he helped the auction grow from 360,000 vehicles per year to 10 million per year when he retired. He had no children but treated his 17 nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as his own children.
Also surviving are a sister, Demaris Ceccoli Farrell and husband, Dr. Robert Farrell; and a brother, Joseph Ceccoli and wife, Virginia Ceccoli.
The funeral will be Saturday at noon in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Eynon. Friends may call Saturday at 10 a.m.
