Daniel Buranich, Sr., 75, died June 30 th at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Harold and Bernice Buranich. Daniel was a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School and attended Johnson College, where he studied to be a machinist. He was employed by N C Stauffer & Sons, Inc. and, prior to his retirement, worked at General Dynamics in Eynon. He also owned his own machine shop, D. Buranich Enterprise Inc.
He enjoyed his daily trips to meet friends and enjoy a meal at the Blue Bird Diner and always looked forward to his walks at the State Park and sitting by his pond watching the wildlife with longtime companion, Jeanne Finch.
Surviving are his children, Deborah Petty and her husband William, Daniel Buranich Jr. and his wife Patrice, and Linda Hood and her husband Ben Clark; seven grandchildren: Billy, Samantha, Tori, Benjamin, Regan, Andrew, and Matthew; and sisters Carol Flynn and her husband Dave, Lisa Pernot, and Heidi Gray.
He was preceded in death by his mother in December 2020 and his father in February 1990.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Abington Hills Cemetery, 800 Morgan Highway, South Abington Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Township.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
