Clifford L. Holgate, Dalton died Friday afternoon at the Community Medical Center. His wife is the former Rose Marie Chesek, the couple celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Born in Clarks Summit, son of the late Allen and Marion Johnson Holgate. Prior to retirement he was a heavy equipment operator as well as a self employed farmer, which was his true passion. He was a member Providence of God Lithuanian National Catholic Church in Scranton.
Also surviving are sons, Mark and his wife Deege, Tunkhannock, Clifford and his wife, Linda, Dalton, Daniel , Scranton, Patrick and his wife, Maryann, Nicholson, Matthew and his wife Diana, Dalton; daughters, Mary Holgate, Dalton, Cheryl Matulevich and her husband, Gary, Hop Bottom; brothers, Harper, Scranton, Boyd, Dalton and Douglas, Clarks Summit; daughter in law, Chris Holgate, Justus; grandchildren, Steven, Amanda, Lisa Casey, Joe, Bobby, Becky, Christopher, Eric, Sarah, Jenny, Julie, Josh, Meadow, Raven, Zach, Levi, Daisy, Heather, Morgan, Lucreza, Matthew, and Salvatore; great grandchildren, Emily, Shane, Brandon, Katie, and Mya.
He was preceded in death by a son, Greg; grandson, David, granddaughter, Melissa Holgate; brothers, Hayden, Williard, and Keith; sisters, Frances Sutton, Irma Anderson, and Delores Carpenter
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 11am from the Providence of God Lithuanian National Catholic Church, Oak St., Scranton to be celebrated by the Rev. Walter Placek Ph. D., pastor. Interment will be in the parish cemetery on S. Abington Rd.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-8pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
