Christopher J. Davies, 63, of Dunmore, died Wednesday evening at Moses Taylor Hospital following an illness.
Born in Clarks Summit, he was the son of the late Stuart and Delphine Recupero Davies. He graduated from Abington Heights High School in 1968 and attended Keystone College and Temple University. For a large portion of his life Chris was a corporate meeting planner for Travel Consultants International. During that time he resided in San Francisco; Washington, D.C.; and Atlanta. While doing so, he had the opportunity to travel the world, a love of his. His favorite place was Rome.
Upon returning to this area and previous to his recent retirement, Chris was employed at Target, where he often stated he met a lot of good friends. Chris was an avid reader and a definite lover of the arts. He liked antiques and was a collector of chairs, lamps, mirrors and vintage boxes.
Surviving are a sister, Kim Davies, Scranton; a brother, Cory Davies and wife, Leah, and sons, Ryan and Conor of Lanoka Harbor, N.J.; a maternal aunt, Toni Recupero, Scranton; other aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Chris' life will be held at the residence of his sister, Kim, 521 Arthur Ave., Scranton, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Friends are invited to attend.
