Chester R. Brzostek, 86, of Dalton died Wednesday evening at Geisinger CMC in Scranton. His wife of 55 years, Ann Brzostek, died September 24, 2017.
Born in Dickson City, he was the son of the late Frank and Julia Lukaszewski Brzostek. He was a 1949 Graduate of Waverly High School and earned his degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University 1965 as Valedictorian of his night school class. He worked his entire life as an engineer and chief engineer for numerous radio stations including WSCR, WWDL, and WARM radio.
Chet enjoyed electronics and putting things together. He enjoyed amatuer radio and talking with people around the world at a time when it wasn't so easy. Chet loved to ski and be together with friends and family. He was active in the community being a life member with the Dalton Fire Co., a member of Our Lady of the Abington's Church, and doing the electrical work for many community events.
Surviving are four daughters Mary Moulder and partner Dave Felker, Scranton; Ann Theresa Parry and husband Thomas, S. Abington Twp.; Judy Brzostek, fiancé Michael Umphred, Dalton; Kathleen Burgess and husband Nathan, New Cumberland; two sisters, Irene Urbanski, Williamsburg, VA., and Patricia Clark, Clarks Summit; grandchildren Sarah Moulder and husband Steve Handelman; Kathleen Moulder; Eric Parry and wife Stefanie, Colby Parry, Brandon Parry, James Parry, Shea Parry, Jerry Parry, Nathan Burgess and wife Sarah, Elizabeth Burgess, and Katie Burgess, and three Great-grandchildren Thomas and Charlotte Parry and Miriam Burgess; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a son Wesley Frank Brzostek, a brother Edward and a sister Eleanor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am from Our Lady of the Abington's Church 700 W Main St, Dalton, PA by Rev. Arbogaste Santoun, Pastor. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Twp.
