Charles "Mick" Wirth

Charles W. "Mick" Wirth, Clarks Green, died Friday night at the Geisinger Community Medical Center.  His wife is Mary Lee Overgard Wirth. The couple married in 1961.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William W. and Bertha E. Christmas Wirth.  Prior to his retirement, he was the Purchasing Manager at Ingersoll Rand.   He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit where he served as a Deacon and was active in Stephen's Ministries.  Charlie was a 50 Year member of Waverly Lodge #301 where he was Past Master and had served 20 years as secretary.  He was a 50 Year member of the Scotish Rite Masonic Bodies, Valley of Scranton. In 2000 he was coronated a 33rd degree mason, Honorary member of Supreme Council, NMJ.  He was very proud of taking part in the Irem Shrine Shepherd's Unit, coordinating and transporting hundreds of children to the Shriners Hospitals both in Pennsylvania and Boston.

Also surviving are a son, William C. Wirth, Scranton; a daughter, Kristen DeLambo and her husband Doug, Maryland; grandchildren Danielle and husband Cody Jackson, and Nicholas DeLambo and fiancé Dawn Walker; great grandchildren Savannah and Troy Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Davis, Barbara Hill and Louise Ellard.

A celebration of life will be held on September 11th at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School Street, Clarks Summit.
