Charles I. Edwards, Nicholson, died Sunday at home. He was the husband of the former Charlene R. Caley Edwards. The couple were married for 39 years.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late Charles and Emily Lake Edwards, he was a manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. before retirement. He was a member of Chinchilla United Methodist Church, Emanon Golf Club and the United Way, where he served as a loan executive. He was also a former member of the Independent Volunteer Fire Company in Kingston.
Charles died surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His passion was golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his son restoring and cruising their 1979 Firebird.
Also surviving are a son, Charles A. and wife, Holly, Factoryville; a brother, William, North Carolina; and a grandson, Ford Vanwert.
He also was preceded in death by a son, Brian J. Edwards.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Anthony Swartz, pastor of Chinchilla United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Hanover Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
