Charles D. "Mayes" Wywiorka, 73, of Scott Twp., died Monday morning at Commonwealth Hospice at Regional Hospital in Scranton. His wife is the former Dorothy Pacanowski. The couple would have been married 43 years on October 2.
Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Charles and Tessie Slagowski Wywiorka. He was a proud Army veteran and a member of St. Gregory's Parish, Clarks Green.
Prior to retirement he was employed as a Senior Systems Analysts at Emery Worldwide. After retirement he was a Captain of Security at Lockheed Martin. He was a former member and had served as President of the Scott Twp. Lions Club. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family.
Also surviving are a son, Charles Wywiorka Quinnan and his wife Jennifer, Camp Hill; a daughter Carla Marie Westover and her husband Dana, Annville; a sister, Dolores Wywiorka, Clarks Summit; a brother, Frank Pacanowski and his wife Kathleen, Greenfield Twp.; two granddaughters, Abigail Quinnan and Briana Rose Westover.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Rd., Clarks Green with services by Fr. John M. Lapera, pastor. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge.
Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 41 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA.
