Charlene C. Loughney

Charlene C. Loughney, Clarks Summit, died Sunday morning at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.  She was the widow of Joseph F. Loughney, who died in 1991.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Christina Wetter Otley.  She was a 1966 graduate of West Side Tech and, prior to her retirement, she worked for the Allied Services Day Program.  Charlene was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit.

Surviving are three sons: James and his wife Michele, Clarks Summit, Tommy, Scranton, and Keith and his husband Brad, Dalton; two daughters: Gail, Archbald, and Maggie, Clarks Summit; grandchildren Kelsey, Jamie, Kylie, Jolene, Zander, and Kara; and a brother Ralph Otley, Chinchilla.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph P. Loughney in 1994 and a brother, Ray Otley.

The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the compassionate shown to Charlene.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of the Snows Church, with services by Rev. Stephen A. Asomah, Assistant Pastor.  Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.  Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
