Cathryn M. Brown

Cathryn M. Brown, 79, of Clarks Summit, died Saturday at the Lackawanna County Health Care Center. Her husband is Keith A. Brown. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Sept. 3.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Irving and Catherine Shafer, she was a member of the Mount Bethel Church and an avid antique dealer.

Also surviving are two daughters, Susan and Cathy Brown, both of Clarks Summit; a son, Kurt Brown, Clarks Summit; five grandchildren, Amanda and Jesse Brown, Clarks Summit; Tazra Costello and Eric Brown, both of Scranton; and Samantha Brown, New York; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Brown Jr.; a sister, Eleanor Marshall; and a brother, Donald Shafer.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Wednesday, 5 until the time of the service.
