Cassie J. Carros, 97, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing Facility, Scranton.  Her husband was the late George Carros.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Maria Petritis Davis.  She was a graduate of Marywood Seminary and attended Weber College in Florida.

Cassie was a great lady and was loved by all.  She was well known for her Greek cooking especially for her baklava , and other Greek pastries which she enjoyed baking and giving to her friends.  She loved to read, especially her Angels magazine, and made many afghans that she also enjoyed giving away as gifts to her friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, George J. Carros, Jr., Clarks Summit; daughter Becky Swift and her husband Jerry, Clarks Summit; grandsons, Jay Swift, Scranton and Corey Swift, Mountaintop; a sister, Dorothy Davis Hoimes, Bethlehem; and sister- in-law, Patricia Davis,Summerfield, FL; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, James Carros; her sisters Iona O'Connor and Demetra Stevens; and a brother, Milton Davis.

The family would like to thank the staff at Allied Skilled Nursing Facility, especially Melissa, Brenda, Nikita, Kathy, Gabby, Mary Ann at the front desk, all the Aides, and the Hospice Staff, especially Rebecca, Theresa, Suzanne, Ann and Kristen for their excellent care.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM at the the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Rd., Clarks Green, PA with services by Fr. John J. Lapera, pastor.  All those attending are asked to go directly to the church.  Interment will follow in Abington Hills Cemetery.

Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA  18411.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA  22215 or the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd., So. Abington Twp., PA  18411.
