Carolyn LaCoe, Newton Township, died January 11 at Abington Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Warren LaCoe.
Born in Mill City, on October 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth MacMath Richardson. Carolyn was a graduate of Falls-Overfield High School. Before her retirement, she was employed at ICS, Scranton, for 26 years. She was a member of Countryside Community Church, a United Methodist Fellowship where she served in the choir. She enjoyed reading and telling jokes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and person.
Surviving are sister, Jane Walter, sister-in-law, Jean LaCoe, and sister-in-law, Helen Richardson, Daughter and care-giver, Donna Wilmot and husband, Walter, Newton Township, son, Larry LaCoe and companion Gary Pembrook, Akron, OH; grandchildren, Lori Wilmot, Cheryl Zaladonis and husband, James, Carol Wetzel and husband, Dane, Walter Wilmot III and wife, Mandy, Tim LaCoe and wife, Jennifer, Terry Lashway and husband, Michael, Karena Conrad and husband, Jim and James Sturtevant Jr.; 20 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Sturtevant and son-in-law, James; a sister, Grace Drinkwater and a brother James Richardson; a great-great grandchild.
The family extends special thanks to the Abington Manor Staff.
The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11am from the Countryside Community Church, 14011 Orchard Lane, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 with services by Rev. Mark Terwilliger. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday morning from 9am until the time of the service at the church.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Countryside Community Church.
