Carole Marie Trager Percival, 80, Clarks Summit, passed away from heart complications on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Nick Percival.
Carole was born on August 23, 1940 to the late Wilbur Trager and Marie Leidinger Trager in West Scranton, PA. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School. After raising her family, she attended Lackawanna Junior College and went on to a career in Medical Transcription with Delta Medix for more than 25 years. Carole was also a dedicated member of the Abington Heights Board of Education for over 13 years and was very proud of the work she did for the school district. Carole was always involved in the Abington community in which she lived and raised her family and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Snows Church of Clarks Summit as well.
Carole was a devoted grandmother and her grandchildren will all miss her dearly.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Nick Percival Jr. and spouse Julie, Clarks Summit, Kelly Cheney and spouse Marshall, Inverness, FL, Randy Percival and spouse Rachel, Tunkhannock, and Tony Percival and spouse Heather, South Abington Twp; grandchildren Robbie, Julian, Gabrielle, Randy, Grace, and Tony; great grandchildren; brother Dennis Trager, Mountain Terrace, WA, sister, Marcia Zabawa and spouse Jack, Clarks Green; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and additional family members who love her and will remember her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald (survived by his wife, Judy).
A memorial mass for both Carole and her husband Nick will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 South State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Reverend Stephen A. Asomah, Assistant Pastor. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Memorial contributions can be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp, PA 18411.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, PA.
