Carol L. West R.N., 75, of Scott Twp. Pa., went to be with her lord and savior on October 22 in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Roger A. West.
Born in Philadelphia on December 5 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Traxel Wetzel. Carol graduated from Woodbury High School in New Jersey and received her registered nursing degree from West Jersey Hospital. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
A woman of great faith and strength, Carol's life focused on her lord and her family. She enjoyed flowers and was a talented painter and gardener.
Also surviving is a son, Jonathan West, Clifford; two daughters Bethann McCawley, Clarks Summit; and Alison Hill, Florida; six grandchildren Caleb, Coleman, Abigail, Rachel, Brook, and Jessie McCawley.
She was preceded in death by a sister Betty Bernell.
Private arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411.
