Carol Sallom, 71, of Jessup, passed Monday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.

Born in Hahnemann Hospital, Scranton, daughter of the late Thomas and Theresa, née Roman, Sallom. A 1969 graduate of Abington Heights High School and Columbia Presbyterian School of Nursing, New York. She was a Registered Nurse at Temple University Hospital, later a nursing supervisor, and received the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award.

Well-liked by everyone she met, she was a very kind person, a devoted mother, and had a deep love of nature and animals. In addition to nursing, she had a love of traditional art; blues, country, and Indian music; and was an avid camper.

She is survived by her son, David; sisters Theresa Clark, Susan Van Wert, and Mary Smith; and brothers Thomas Sallom and Frederick Sallom.

Carol was preceded in death by her father Thomas Sallom, and her mother Theresa, née Roman, Sallom.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA.
