Carol Lewis

Carol Lewis, age 70, died Wednesday January 10, at Abington Manor where she had been a resident since 2013.

Born in Clarks Summit, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Stella Holod Lewis. She was a 1965 graduate of Abington Heights High School and attended West Chester University until the middle of her sophomore year when she was involved in a serious car accident.

Carol was always aware of her limitations because of her injuries from the car accident, but that never stopped her from being cheerful or cracking a joke. She loved animals, especially dogs, and looked forward to pet visits. She enjoyed activities at Abington Manor especially painting and Bingo. Special thanks go to the staff at Abington Manor for the wonderful care they provided to Carol.

Carol's biggest joy was attending family gatherings where she wanted to know what was going on in everyone's lives.

Carol is survived by several cousins and their families; Kathryn Holod and husband Bill Burnell, Bonnie Blasé, Patti Walton and husband Marvin, Cheri Herrmann and husband Fred, Phyllis Fenton and husband Steve, Dan Holod and wife Debra, Charles Holod and wife Pamela, Douglas Holod and wife Elisabeth, Matthew Swientisky and wife Suzanne, Chester Poch and wife MaryAnn, Donald Poch, Lelia Saunders, Laura Colan , Joseph Holod and wife Mickey and Michael Holod.

She was preceded in death by a cousin, Edward Swientisky and her companion Norman Wenger.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, Pa. Interment will follow in Abington Hills Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 am to the time of the service at 11 at the funeral home.
