Carol J. Lennox

Carol J. Lennox, 73, of So. Abington Twp., died Monday afternoon at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the widow of the late Phillip Lennox who died in 2008.


Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Hills. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Prior to her retirement she did clerical work for S. J. Bailey Furniture Co. in Clarks Summit. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit. Carol was an avid bowler and loved to do jigsaw puzzles, but her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren.


Surviving are two sons, Craig Lennox and his wife Julie, Trooper, PA and Phillip Lennox of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Diane Lennox, Susquehanna, PA; a brother, William Hills, Mehoopany ; a sister Evelyn Kelly and her husband Robert, Clarks Summit; two grandsons, Tyler Scopelliti and Evan Lennox.


She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Hills and a sister, Judy Bideganeta.


A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 am from the Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 West Grove St., Clarks Summit with services by Rev. George Mathews, pastor. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.


Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svcs., Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
