Carol Noe Crouse, 68, of Clarks Green and Key Colony Beach, Fla., died Feb. 4 after a courageous battle with multiple inoperable brain tumors. She was the beloved wife and soulmate of Robert J. Crouse for 46 loving years.
Born Dec. 25, 1941, in Summit, N.J., she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Noe. She later moved to Pennsylvania with her family and became a resident of Clarks Green. Recently, Carol joined other snowbirds, establishing a second residence in Key Colony Beach. Carol was a faithful parishioner of First Presbyterian Church, Clarks Summit, and Presbyterian Kirk of the Keys, Marathon, Fla. In both churches she welcomed all, spearheaded new programs and drove growth.
She was a devoted Christian, friend, mother, sister and wife. While her life was too full to mention all her experiences and all those who touched her life, most recently Carol could be found teaching a water aerobics class, enjoying mah-jongg or being with her dear friends in Pennsylvania. As busy and full as her life was, Carol always managed private time with those closest to her. She was so much more than a friend to the community around her.
Carol will be remembered by her friends and co-workers at Metropolitan Life, from where she retired after many years of devoted service. Carol always made herself available to those who needed her and was an angel and a second mother to them. By her kindness to friend and stranger, she entertained angels unawares. She is now at peace with all those who have been waiting for her.
Her family would like to thank all Carol's friends and neighbors, the Keys VNA/Hospice for its care and time as well as all those at Mariners Hospital who took care of Carol. A great spirit may be gone but will never be forgotten.
Also surviving are a son, Jonathan; a daughter, Laura; a son-in-law, Rob; two brothers, Jack Noe and wife, Jean, New Jersey; and Robert Noe, Florida; and a sister-in-law, Betsy Wenger and family.
Two memorial services have been planned. The first, for Florida friends and family, was Feb. 12 in Presbyterian Kirk of the Keys, 8877 Overseas Highway, Marathon. The second service will be in Pennsylvania on April 24 at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School St. Burial will be in Clarks Green Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Kirk of the Keys Mission Fund, 88th Street, Marathon, FL 33050. Arrangements are by the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. To send an online condolence, visit www.law renceeyoungfuneralhome.com.
