Carol Ann Comstock, beloved mother, Nana, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home in Clarks Summit, PA. She was 82 years old.
Born in Bloomsburg, PA to the late William and Hazel Beyers, Carol was the widow of Arthur Comstock, formerly of Benton, PA, who died in January 1991. Together again, the two of them will be eternally put to rest at the Elan Memorial Park in Bloomsburg.
Carol is survived by a daughter, Wendy Jo Hiller and husband Ken of Newton, PA; a son, Arthur Brent Comstock and wife Bonnie of Waverly, PA; three adored grandchildren, David Comstock, Brady Comstock, and Bryce Comstock; along with brothers, William Beyers and Gary Beyers, a sister, Donna Coombe (all of Bloomsburg, PA), several aunts and uncles, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her late husband (who was the "wind beneath her wings") and her brother, Robert Beyers of Bloomsburg, PA.
During her lifetime, Carol enjoyed vacationing with family and friends, dancing and singing, playing board games (especially Scrabble), and she was an avid bowler and golfer. But, more than anything, she wholeheartedly loved being around her family. The joy that she experienced from her surprise 80 th birthday party with so many friends and family in attendance warmed her heart every day that she was alive. Carol was also the loudest and proudest cheerleader for her grandchildren at all of their competitions - whether at the ballpark or in the stands near the basketball and tennis courts, and she was well-known for her self-drawn birthday cake stamps on the envelopes that she gave to her family members on their birthdays.
Carol was a truly selfless individual who dedicated her life in motherly service to everyone around her. Some individuals are remembered for their accomplishments – career accolades, honors and awards – but Carol will always be remembered for how deeply she touched every person that she knew. She loved helping others, and she was always there to provide motherly advice and guidance to those around her. Her loving and caring nature was shared with all, and she was a friend to all. She will be forever missed by everyone that knew her.
In respect of her wishes, there will be no viewing. Memorial service for friends and family to call will be held on Friday, September 24 th from 6-8pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, PA. A private interment for family and friends will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 25 th at Elan Memorial Park in Bloomsburg, PA.
