Carol Bell, 79, of Clarks Summit, died Sunday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard Bell.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bertha Danielson Olson.  She was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, CT.  Carol was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clarks Summit where she was employed as the church secretary for over 13 years.


Carol was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed bowling and participated in league bowling with the Alley Cats for over 20 years.

The family would like to thank the Geisinger CMC for the compassionate care extended to Carol during her stay.

Also surviving are two sons, Rick Bell and his wife Marie, Jacksonville, FL, and Tom Bell and his wife Chandra, Clarks Summit; three daughters, Leile Saxe and her husband Charles, Clarks Summit; Loraine Bell, Harveys Lake, and Lynda Hall and her husband Greg, Tunkhannock; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Charles III, Christian, Lauren, Jessica, Ally, Dylan, Sadie and T.J.; one great grandchild, Ryan.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Olson.


A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11am from the Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 West Grove St, Clarks Summit Pa. 18411, with services by Rev. Jeffrey Bohen, Pastor. Interment will take place in Clarks Green Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Saturday from 10 am until time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church at the above address.
