Carol J. Artley of Clarks Green died Friday at Community Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband is Thomas J. Artley. The couple had been married for more than 42 years.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Sincavage Vasky, she was a resident of the Abington area since 1965. Before retirement, she was a teacher's aide for United Cerebral Palsy, Clarks Summit. Her favorite pastime was trying her luck at the casinos.
Also surviving are two daughters, Catherine Logan Cray, Westerville, Ohio; and Tamara Myers, Clarks Summit; two sons, Michael P. Logan and Thomas M. Artley, both of Clarks Summit; a brother, Stanley Vaskey, Dalton; three sisters, Frances Gestford, Clarks Green; Marion Harvey, Scranton; and Ruth Pagnoski, Clarks Green; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Carmelita Memolo, pastor of the Holy Spirit Pentecostal Church, Dunmore. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery.
