Carlyn E. Noll

Carlyn Noll, 87, of Dalton, died Tuesday, May 15, at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. Her husband, Herbert, died in 1989.

Born in Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Elma Ness Almony.

Carlyn was a graduate of Moscow High School and Comptometer School, and worked as a bookkeeper at the Scranton Dry Goods Store.

She took loving care of her disabled daughter for over twenty years.  Carlyn enjoyed reading and sharing books with her friends, watching and feeding birds, doing crosswords, and spending quality time with her family, especially her great granddaughter Harper and her granddog, Benny.

Surviving are a daughter, Cindy, Dalton; a son, Herbert and his wife Dianne, Dalton;  Grandchildren Sarah Walsh and husband Thomas, Dalton, and Christopher and his companion Trista Birenbaum, Bath, Maine; Great granddaughter Harper Walsh.  Brothers Richard (June), Springbrook Twp., Robert (Ruth), Maryland and Randall (Rosemary), Florida; sisters Jean Wujnovich, Florida, Iris Thomas, Ohio and Elma Mertz, Michigan. Many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Reverend TJ McCabe, pastor of the Dalton United Methodist Church.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30 am until the time of service.
