Bonnie Jean Swingle White of Clarks Summit died Saturday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the loving wife of Ronald James White Sr. The couple had been married for 47 years.
Born Oct. 7, 1949, in Binghamton, N.Y., she was the daughter of Geneva Payne Swingle and the late Clair "Bud" Swingle Sr. of Brackney. Bonnie graduated in 1967 from Vestal High School and Triple Cities Beauty School. She was a beautician until marrying Ronald James White Sr. on Nov. 22, 1969.
Bonnie was a dedicated homemaker and liked to bake and decorate cakes. She also loved to sew and do genealogy.
Also surviving are a son, Ronald White Jr., Clarks Summit; two daughters, Tina White Smith and husband, John; and their son, Dean Parker Smith, Falls; and April White, Clarks Summit; two brothers, Richard Swingle and Clair "Buddy" Swingle Jr., both of Brackney; a sister, Dawn Hagkins and husband, Lynn, Brackney; a mother-in-law, Helen White Solano, Eatontown, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Beverly White Payne and husband, T. Ray, Jupiter, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Forest and Sarah Rodman Swingle, Oliver and Lalaha Belcher Payne; and her father-in-law, James White.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, by the Rev. John M. Lapara, pastor. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be private in the White Family Cemetery, Clarks Summit.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
