Bob E. Schroeder,90 , of Clarks Green, died Saturday at Lackawanna Health Care in Peckville. His wife is Gladys Ace Schroeder. The couple has been married for 66 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret Lydon Schroeder. He was a graduate of Clarks Summit High School and went on to attend Syracuse and Illinois University's, and received his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Scranton. He was a US Army veteran who received a purple heart while in combat in the European Theater. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a Printing Estimator for Eureka and Specialty Printing. He was past president of the Anthracite Craftsman Club, a member and past master of the Waverly Masonic Lodge #301 F&AM ,and a member of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church.
Bob enjoyed fishing, bowling, and square dancing with his wife Gladys.
Surviving is a son Terry A. Schroeder and his wife Cheryl, New Freedom, Pa.; a daughter Renee Regan and her husband Michael, Carlsbad Ca., four grandchildren Randy Michael and Kevin Carl Schroeder and Matt Michael and Kevin John Regan, a great grandchild Skyler Evan Schroeder, and a nephew Lee Carkhuff.
He was preceded in death by a sister Marjorie Carkhuff.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit pa, 18411, with services by Rev. Brent Stouffer, pastor of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow at Glenwood Mausoleum.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8pm, with masonic services at 7pm at the funeral home.
