William Donald "Bill" Kirkendall, of Glenburn Township, died Saturday morning at home. His wife is Bertha Elsie "Jake" Jacobs Wolfe Kirkendall.

He was born June 16, 1916 in Scranton. Son of the late Ralph and Emma Jane Kirkendall. Before retiring, he was an engineer for Daystrom Industries, which is now Lockheed Martin, Archbald. He was an Army veteran of World War II with the Army Corps of Engineers, and traveled throughout Europe. He was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church and its Couples Class. He was also a member of the Rotary Club of the Abingtons, and served as past president of the Abington Lions Club. He was a graduate of Lafayette College.

Also surviving are a stepson, Richard Wolfe, Colorado; a nephew, Glenn Igler, Georgia; and three granddaughters, Gabrielle, Mackenzie and Samantha.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, Morgan Highway and Grove Street, Clarks Summit, to be officiated by the Rev. Judy Wanck, pastor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scranton chapter of the American Red Cross.
