Beverly C. Schmidt

Beverly C. Schmidt, Scott Twp., died Saturday afternoon at Allied Services Hospice Center. She was the widow of John "Jack" Schmidt who passed away in 1989.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Nelson and Doris (Jones) Cole, she was a graduate of the Abington Heights school district and Lackawanna Business College. Prior to retirement she was an administrative assistant for various employers including Bittenbender Co., downtown Scranton, where she met her husband. Beverly was a lifelong member of Chinchilla United Methodist Church and she enjoyed playing the organ, sewing, traveling to Florida, and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Surviving are a son John and wife Lisa, South Abington Twp.; a daughter Leigh Ann Schield and husband Kurt, Roaring Brook Twp.; and four grandchildren, Ethan and Kamryn Schield and Hannah and Caroline Schmidt.

Due to the COVID pandemic, services will be private with interment at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. States Street, Clarks Summit.
