Betty J. White of Clarks Summit died Oct. 8 at Altus Healthcare and Hospice Facility, Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald White.
Born April, 5, 1932, in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Catherine Merrifield, she was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. She was educated in the Scranton public schools and Central California Commercial College. Before retirement, she was employed by the law firm of Fine, Wyatt & Carey.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan Christian and husband, Derf, Marietta, Ga.; a son, William Palumbo Jr. and wife, Danielle, Clarks Summit; a sister, Marion Sekerke, Clarks Summit; grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Smith.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Benedict, Newton-Ransom Boulevard, Clarks Summit. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Betty's life in the gathering room at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit following Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Altus Healthcare and Hospice Inc., 1 Dunwoody Park, Suite 128, Atlanta, GA 30338.
