Beryl Jean Connolly

Beryl Jean Connolly, 78, of Chinchilla, passed away Wednesday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was the widow of John J. Connolly, who passed Aug. 8, 2007.

Born in Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hazel Hunold. She was a graduate of Old Forge High School and was a member of the Chinchilla United Methodist Church.

Moving to Chinchilla in 1961 with her husband John, the Connolly Barber Shop was opened and later Connolly's Smoke Shop that Beryl ran with John and kept it going after his passing. She retired from the business in 2019.

She is survived by two sons, Sean Connolly and his wife, Lu Ann, South Abington Twp.; and Shannon Connolly and his companion, Nicole Flynn, Clarks Summit: grandchildren, Leah Connolly Fail and her husband, Tom, Philadelphia; Branden Connolly and Devin Connolly, both of Clarks Summit; sister, Marlyn Hunold, Clarks Summit; great-aunts, Janet Harrison, Delaware; and Lydia Boruta, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Karen Hunold, Old Forge; niece, Kim Mancini and Phil, Old Forge; and great-niece, Amber Mancini. Old Forge.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Hunold.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Chinchilla United Methodist Church, with service by Pastor Kevin St. Martin. Interment will be in Shady Lane Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10 until the time of service at the church.
