Ben Kline Md

Ben Kline MD, 90, of Dalton died peacefully Wednesday at home. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 56 years, Mildred Catherine Kline.

Born in Dalton, PA, he was the son of the late M.A. Kline MD and Dorothy Zeller Kline. Ben was a graduate of Dalton High School. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in 1955. After an internship at the Scranton State Hospital, he joined his father in the practice of medicine in Dalton. Above all, he was proud to be a physician and to have served the area's medical needs for over 50 years. One of his proudest accomplishments was the celebration of Ben Kline Day on June 14, 2006 by the Borough of Dalton for his service to the community.

He is leaving behind a vast legacy of goodwill in the hearts and souls of his family, close friends, community and the countless strangers whose lives he touched. He will be remembered fondly for his genuine caring for others and his core values of honesty and strong moral principles. He was a consummate gentleman and conversationalist. He knew how to listen and was an invaluable source of sound advice and an anchor for so many.

Among his passions were his love of travel and skiing at Elk Mountain.  He particularly enjoyed vacationing with family and friends.

Surviving are three sons, John Kline, and wife Johanna, Pawling, NY; Michael Kline MD, and wife Danielle, Dalton; Benjamin Kline MD, and wife Pamela, Sinking Spring, PA; six grandchildren Mackenzie, Tucker, Mikhaila, Calista, Benjamin, and Luke; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. from the Dalton United Methodist Church, 125 S Turnpike Rd, Dalton, PA  18414, with services by Rev. James Hollister. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Dalton United Methodist Church.
