Barbara Taylor, 82, of Scranton, died Monday morning at Dunmore Health Care Center, with her daughter by her side. Her husband of 61 years was Roger Taylor who died on February 20, 2016.
Born in Clarks Summit, she was the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Anderson. She worked as a trainer for Hess's Department Store, a book keeper at Jim Dandy's Restaurant, and finished her career working in the bookstore at Keystone College.
An avid reader, Barbara enjoyed traveling to be near the ocean, and Niagara Falls. She cherished time spent with family, friends, and her grandchildren. It was a very proud moment for her to hold her great granddaughter, Amelia on the day she was born.
Surviving are a son Bruce Taylor and his wife Darlene, Moreno Valley, California; a daughter Christina Cannon and her husband Matthew , Ledgedale, Pennsylvania; three sisters Janet Lawson, Jo Ann Ward, and Arlyne Campbell; five grandchildren Jason and Mark Williams, Melissa and Nicholas Taylor, and Charles Huffman; and a great-granddaughter Amelia Williams.
She was preceded in death by a brother Glenn Anderson and her grandson Vincent Taylor.
A memorial service will take place Friday at 7pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremations Services Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit . Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.Friends may call Friday from 5 -7pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American SIDS Institute, 528 Raven Way, Naples, Florida 34110
