Barbara J. Dworshock of South Abington Township died Friday morning at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dworshock Jr.
Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Bertha Zima Lupco. Prior to retirement she was an telephone operator for the former Community Medical Center and for the Bell Telephone Company.
She was a member of the Retired Bell Telephone Employees Association, Barbara was a very courageous woman who accepted life's challenges and always enjoyed the Christmas season, crossword puzzles, working on her computer, and taking online courses. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter Michele Keating and her husband Robert of South Abington Township; her two grandsons Jeremy Keating, Reading and Christopher Keating and his wife Lauren, Broomall and two great grandchildren Ryan and Allie Keating
She was preceded in death by a sister Marion Miceli and a brother Carl Lupco.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10am at Our Lady of the Snows, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in the Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
Friends may call on Sunday from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
