Barbara Christian, Scranton, formerly of Clarks Summit died Tuesday morning at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the widow of Gerard Christian who died in 1992.
Born in Montrose, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Anna Thorton Chamberlin. Prior to retirement she was a seamstress employed in the local garment industry, and a member of ILGWU. She was a woman of the Episcopal faith. She was an avid fan of dirt track racing and Nascar.
Surviving are a daughter, Kelly Stolarik and her husband, John, Scranton, a son Kyle Christian, Florida; three sisters, Judy Myers and Donna Meadows, Florida, and Jill Miclon of Great Bend; 4 grandchildren, Jeri Todd, and her fiance Shaun Sampson, Adam, Catlin, and Maura Christian; 3 great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Jada, and Keylain Sampson; a nephew, Andrew Myers.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Rev. Cathy Simmons for her friendship, kindness and prayers.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 South State St., Clarks Summit.
